Painter

NM Residential, a property management company has an opportunity for an experienced Painter to join our amazing team.

The painter is responsible for painting interior and exterior surfaces of the apartment community using paint, varnishes, lacquers, sealers, or stains. The painter’s job description entails preparing walls and surfaces before executing the actual painting tasks.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Prepare areas to be painted by cleaning the surface, fill holes, remove nails, remove switch plate and electrical outlet covers, any other fixtures that need removal.
• Complete any repair work to include dry wall repair, scrape any old paint that requires scraping as necessary prior to painting walls.
• Use appropriate materials to prevent damage to unit such as drop cloths.
• Apply paint, varnish, stain, enamel, lacquer or other finishes to walls or other areas that require painting such as balconies.
• Clean-up upon completion of paint job to include debris and paint chips; remove empty paint containers and trash to be disposed into dumpsters.
• Return all unused paint back to paint storage area.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications:

Educational Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Work Experience:

• Five years previous painting
• Prevous drywall repair experience preferred

Additional Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the painting trade
• Skill in the preparation and application of paints to different types of surfaces
• Excellent verbal and written communication

Physical Demands:

• Stand for long periods of time
• Walking/Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching/Stretching
