Schedule: May vary but typically Monday-Friday, occasional Saturdays Travel: Requires <25%

Job Description: The Shop Hand provides on-site support for construction crews, is responsible for facility maintenance, fleet, and vehicle maintenance, pickup and delivery of materials and other duties as assigned.

Construction Support/Inventory:

  • Flexibility drive to job sites in all locations as needed.
  • Follow documentation process to accurately record all work performed.
  • Responsible for shipping, receiving, and storage of material.
  • Check in material based on customer requirements.
  • Assist with customer material returns (retrieving S/N's, proper organization, scanning, palletizing).
  • Unload trucks as needed.
  • Aid in preparation of materials/kits for crew leads.
  • Assist with maintenance of stock levels and procurement needs.

Facility Management:

  • Yard maintenance 
  • Mowing 
  • Weed Eating 
  • Spraying 
  • Watering 
  • Facility maintenance as assigned. 
  • Cleaning 
  • Sweeping 
  • Trash 
  • Recycling 
  • Restrooms 
  • Organizing Yard and Shop 
  • Sorting recycled materials 
  • Painting 
  • Pest Control 
  • Rodent Traps
  • Pesticide Application as necessary 
  •   Replace Furnace Filters 
  •   Snow Removal 

Vehicle/Fleet Maintenance

  • Perform scheduled maintenance on fleet and equipment to maximize the safety, productivity, and life of the unit. 
  •   Oil Changes 
  •   Vehicle Inspections 
  •   Diagnostic Testing 
  •   Repair Checklist Items 
  •   Daily Forklift Inspection 
  •   Install and removal of GPS units as needed. 

Other Duties as Assigned:

  • Basic office tasks (emailing, scanning, copying, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Requirements: Employees will need to be able to perform the following: 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Clean driving record
  • Basic Welding Skills
  • Must be able to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Class A CDL (or get in 6 months)
  • Forklift Certified
  • Proficient in vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting — both diesel and gas powered.

Educational Development and Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent. Physical, Mental, and Visual Effort: 
  • Continuous speaking, hearing and visual effort. 
  • Requires standing, walking, and lifting frequently.
  • Continuous mental and visual concentration requiring attention to detail and accuracy.

Working Conditions:

  • Shop/Warehouse environment 
  • Occasionally a construction work environment 
  • Subject to outdoor (hot/cold) extremes, noise, wind, etc.
