Director, Regulatory Affairs

Salary Range: $150,000 - $205,000
Summary:
The Director, Regulatory Affairs works to advance the Regulatory Affairs Department's mission of promoting the wireless industry's positions on Federal regulatory policy issues on behalf of, and in coordination with, CTIA's members. The Director works as part of the Regulatory Affairs team to monitor regulatory activity, coordinate calls and meetings, develop advocacy documents such as comments and letters, help the team prepare for panels and hearings, develop presentations, and provide other assistance as needed.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
  • Assist the SVP Regulatory Affairs and team on all aspects of coordinating, organizing, and executing Federal regulatory advocacy as issues arise throughout the year.
  • Monitor and analyze regulatory initiatives and proceedings to inform the Regulatory Affairs team on matters being considered by the FCC and other Federal regulatory agencies.
  • Support the Regulatory Affairs team in developing and advocating the Association's positions on policy issues before the FCC and other Federal regulatory agencies and departments.
  • Coordinate with various CTIA departments and member company representatives to disseminate information, develop policy positions and industry goals and objectives, and determine advocacy strategy.
  • Draft filings in proceedings before the FCC and other regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct research on precedent, laws and regulations, and other policy initiatives. Draft, proofread, and fact-check comments, letters, and other written advocacy materials generated by the Regulatory Affairs team.
  • Manage engagement with external consultants and counsel.
  • In coordination with the Regulatory Affairs team, meet with FCC and other Governmental representatives to present Association positions on issues.
  • Assist, as appropriate, Regulatory Affairs team member participation in hearings, on panels, and in other public presentations.
  • Assist, as appropriate, other Association departments in connection with requests for information on regulatory policy and other research.
  • Support the development and execution of policy discussions at CTIA events.

Computer skills:
Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Teams, and Internet.
Education and/or experience:
B.A (or B.S.) and J.D. Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in Federal regulatory and administrative procedures preferred.
Language skills:
Detail-oriented with knowledge of grammar and punctuation. Proficiency in proofreading skills and strong communications skills are required.

Candidate must be flexible to work overtime if needed.
Location: CTIA is currently operating on a hybrid work schedule with in-person requirements on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with in-person requirements on other days on an as necessary basis.
