About this position
The Concession Stand Attendant is responsible for preparing and serving food and beverages to guests in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. This role also assists with opening and closing duties and helps maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming concession stand.
What You’ll Do
- Accurately handle cash and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system
- Provide friendly, consistent, and professional customer service to all guests
- Prepare and serve food and beverages according to standards
- Maintain cleanliness of concession stand areas, both front and back of house
- Complete daily cleaning tasks as assigned
- Keep food and beverage items fully stocked
- Follow all departmental policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance per department guidelines
- Learn and follow department standard operating procedures and Big Ten guidelines
- Promote safety for guests and coworkers at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor or manager
Basic Requirements
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to handle cash accurately
- Completion of I-PACT online training (required if over age 18)
- Regular and reliable attendance
Scheduling Requirements
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Hours may vary based on departmental staffing needs
Physical & Working Conditions
This position requires the ability to perform physical tasks throughout the shift, including:
- Standing for extended periods
- Walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and grasping objects
- Pushing or pulling up to 30 pounds
- Using proper body mechanics when lifting, reaching, squatting, or bending
- Fine motor skills and manual dexterity
- Working around food service and concession equipment
- Ability to remain professional and effective in a fast-paced or stressful environment
