Job Summary

The CDL Applicator performs vegetation management services while operating commercial vehicles to transport spray equipment, materials, and crews. This role requires compliance with DOT and environmental regulations.    

This position requires applicants to possess a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL with manual endorsement) and to work with a team of experienced professionals. The ideal candidate can work on their feet for most of the day and is comfortable working in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Applicants must be able to lift 50lbs. This position requires the ability to travel 2-4 weeks at a time between the months of March through September. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, good standing MVR, background check and continuing random drug tests. Experience working with pesticides is highly valued.

  

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Requirements:

 Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all Applicator duties
  • Operate CDL-required vehicles safely and legally
  • Transport and secure chemicals, equipment, and materials
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and maintain logs
  • Comply with DOT and environmental regulations
  • Applying herbicides to the railroad and its surrounding properties
  • Communicate and coordinate with railroad personnel
  • Make safe and effective on the job decisions   
  • Perform simple math: addition, multiplication and division.
  • Show up on time and work in a professional manner
  • Properly organize and fill out daily reports.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B, with manual endorsement) required
  • Acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior vegetation management or applicator experience
  • State applicator license or ability to obtain
