POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for compiling and producing the monthly and annual financial statements for the Company, managing the annual external audit, researching accounting standards and applying them to company operations, and assisting the accounting team with matters of a more complex accounting nature. Reporting to the Corporate Controller and based at Guardian’s Pasadena Headquarters, this role is a key member of the finance team. The ideal candidate brings technical expertise in US GAAP, a strong sense of urgency, and experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

    Prepare divisional and consolidated financial statements, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and other regulatory requirements.

    Ensure unique accounting transactions are appropriately presented for both internal and external reporting purposes.

    Coordinate the preparation and review of non-financial statement regulatory filings.

    Prepare research memos on accounting standards and proper accounting treatment for transactions.

    Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, automation, and standardization of financial reporting operations.

    Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements, providing guidance to others on accounting team.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business area, with minimum of 24 credit hours in accounting (strict requirement)

    CPA license strongly preferred.

    2+ years of progressive technical accounting or financial reporting experience, with strong knowledge in US GAAP and strong understanding of interrelationship between financial statements.

    Demonstrated ability to prepare and review technical accounting memos and consolidated financial statements.

    Strong communication skills.

    Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

    Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.

    Commitment to continuous learning, confidentiality, and ethical standards.

    Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project), experience with EPICOR or similar ERP applications helpful

Position based in Houston with hybrid schedule to report to Pasadena office 3 days a week.
