Safety Coordinator
Location: Lebanon, IN
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (varies) | 5 x 10-hour shifts (10 hours/week overtime eligible) | Occasional weekends as needed
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator to support a long-term, high-profile project in Lebanon, IN. This project will be 2–3 years in duration, designed for a safety professional who values stability, team integration, and long-term, not short-term contract work.
This individual will be embedded on-site and play a critical role in maintaining a proactive safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and executing the site-specific safety plan across all phases of construction.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Planning & Execution
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the site-specific safety plan
  • Carry out and enforce all aspects of the site-specific safety program
  • Lead and participate in safety planning meetings prior to major work activities
  • Develop, review, and audit Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and pre-task plans
Daily Site Oversight
  • Conduct daily job site walks and safety audits
  • Lead daily job site safety meetings and toolbox talks
  • Monitor high-risk activities and ensure proper controls are in place
  • Partner with field leadership to proactively identify and mitigate hazards
Incident Management & Compliance
  • Assist with accident, incident, and violation investigations
  • Document findings and support corrective action plans
  • Ensure timely reporting and compliance with OSHA and client requirements
  • Maintain accurate safety records and documentation
Collaboration & Communication
  • Work closely with project management, superintendents, subcontractors, and client representatives
  • Serve as a visible safety resource and advocate on site
  • Reinforce accountability and promote a culture of safety ownership
Required:
  • Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience
  • OSHA 30 – Construction Certification
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices
  • Experience leading safety planning efforts and developing JSAs
  • Ability to work extended hours and occasional weekends as project demands require
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) or other BCSP certification preferred but not required
  • OSHA 510 Certification preferred but not required
  • Experience on large-scale commercial or industrial construction projects
