Implements and monitors the unit's objectives, work programs, and productivity measurements in order to increase effectiveness and efficiency by utilizing a work management system. Supervises Wastewater Operations staff (supervisors and technicians) by directing work activities, establishing work priorities, rules, schedules, and vacation requests. Develops standard operations procedures for the unit. Understands and implements policies and procedures, in compliance with laws and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Conducts safety meetings providing pertinent updates on safety issues and problems, demonstrating use of necessary safety equipment required for the job. Coordinates with outside contractors. Completes budget requests, reviews and approves purchase orders, oversees short- and long-term planning as well as special projects. Serves as a point of contact for citizens.
