About the Center
FM Facilities Management has been servicing Central and Northern Indiana since 2002 and has recently expanded into Southeastern Michigan. FM technicians diagnose, service and repair all commercial kitchen equipment, hot side, cold side and HVAC for restaurants, schools, hotels, convenience stores and any other business with commercial refrigeration or commercial cooking equipment.
Position Summary
As part of the FM team and broader Tech24 network, the HVACR technician plays a critical role in minimizing equipment downtime and ensuring customers' operations run efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working independently while representing the company with professionalism and integrity. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in the field.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment including walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-ins, ice machines, rooftop units, split systems, and exhaust/make-up air systemsPerform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevityInstall, replace, and commission HVAC and refrigeration systems as neededAccurately document service calls, parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions in company systemCommunicate clearly with customers regarding equipment issues, repair recommendations, and preventative maintenance plansMaintain EPA compliance and adhere to all local, state and federal safety regulationsManage truck inventory to ensure proper parts and tools are stockedRespond to emergency service calls in a timely and professional mannerRepresent the company with professionalism while delivering high-quality customer serviceParticipate in ongoing technical training and professional development opportunities
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in commercial HVAC and refrigeration service (preferred)EPA Certification requiredStrong knowledge of refrigeration systems, electrical diagnostics, airflow systems, and mechanical troubleshootingExperience working on commercial kitchen equipment is a plusAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprintsValid drivers license with a clean driving record requiredStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independentlyExcellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to lift up to 50+ lbs. and work in varying indoor / outdoor conditionsAbility to climb ladders, work from heights, and crawl in tight quartersOwn industry standard hand toolsWillingness to participate in an on-call rotation as needed
Compensation Transparency
The advertised pay range for this position is $30-$45 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience level, technical certifications, skill set, and overall qualifications. Candidates with advanced commercial HVAC and refrigeration experience, manufacture certifications, or specialized expertise may be considered at the higher end of the range.
