Come join the Mahoney Environmental Solutions team in Joliet, IL as a Diesel Technician I. The Diesel Technician I will timely and thoroughly complete daily tasks for equipment maintenance and repair.
Starting hourly rate: $25-$26
Schedule: Sunday night through Friday morning 9pm to 5:30am

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Perform scheduled PM services and DOT inspections.
- Discuss follow ups found during inspections.
- Perform tractor and trailer brake services.
- Inspect, adjust and lubricate, fifth wheel as necessary.
- Assist Technician II and III employees in overhaul, repair, and replacement of major components of equipment.
- Repair all series of truck and trailer equipment and remove and replace major components as directed, including but not limited to the following:
- Items found on PM or DOT follow up
- SCR filters and components
- Hydraulic components, hose repair, fabricating and replacement
- Trailer compartment seal replacement
- Cab Components & Accessories – adjust/replace mirrors, panels, trim, accessories, etc.
- Minor Electrical Repairs – Inspect and repair lighting system
- Front Ends & Rear Axles - Inspect and report
- Assist in Fuel Island Duties as necessary.
- Complete work orders timely and accurately.
- Ensure equipment meets planned maintenance compliance.
- Stay current on all Vector safety videos and/or trainings and follow company safety standards and procedures.
- Maintain good housekeeping of shop, floor scrubber and tools.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year related heavy truck maintenance experience required.
- Heavy truck education, specialized training and/or experience in Mack using Tech Tool, Freightliner using DDL, Kenworth using PACCAR / Davie software, Cummins Insight, etc.
- Be proficient in the use of all tools of the trade (Welding equipment, power tools and shop machinery)
- Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds at times.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, kneel, climb ladders and squat for extended periods.
- Work outdoors in different weather conditions.
- Exposure to used cooking oil odors.
