POSITION SUMMARY:

The CDL Driver is responsible for safely operating a commercial motor vehicle on a dedicated daily overnight route between Port Orange and Sarasota, FL. This role ensures timely, accurate, and damage-free transportation of materials while maintaining full compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and company safety standards.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle on a scheduled overnight route between company locations

· Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT/FMCSA regulations and company policy

· Transport materials safely, securely, and without damage

· Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD), trip records, and required documentation

· Ensure compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations

· Safely load, secure, and unload cargo when required

· Communicate effectively with leadership and facility teams regarding delays, issues, or safety concerns

· Report vehicle maintenance needs promptly and follow company maintenance procedures

· Follow all company safety standards, PPE requirements, and defensive driving practices

· Maintain professional conduct and represent the company in a safe and responsible manner

EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED SKILLS:

· Valid CDL Class A with acceptable driving record

· Current DOT Medical Card

· Minimum three (3) years commercial driving experience

· Ability to meet FMCSA/DOT regulations and drug & alcohol testing requirements

· Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or inter-facility transport

· Familiarity with ELD systems and electronic trip reporting

· Experience operating tractor-trailer

· Strong safety mindset and attention to detail

· Reliable, punctual, and able to work overnight schedule consistently

WORKING CONDITIONS:

· This position requires long periods of sitting while driving.

· Ability to enter/exit truck cab, secure loads, and perform inspections

· Ability to work in varying temperatures and weather conditions
