Summary

SENS is seeking an Engineering Technical Writer to help shape how customers and partners understand and use our industry-leading power conversion and DC power solutions. In this role, you will transform complex engineering concepts into clear, engaging, and visually compelling documentation that supports product adoption, training, and long-term customer success. Working cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and technical sales, you’ll play a key role in building scalable documentation standards and multimedia content that elevate the overall customer experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented communicator who enjoys mastering technical products and making sophisticated technology accessible and easy to use.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop compelling and accurate content that aligns with our brand messaging for use in technical documentation, training materials, and customer-facing product documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing and technical sales team to understand complex concepts and translate them into user-friendly, benefit-focused and visually appealing documentation.  
  • Work independently to learn product base well enough to document it accurately and clearly, not relying solely on subject matter experts to provide information.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of documentation for accuracy, completeness, and clarity. Follow a standardized review process to ensure consistency in style, tone, and formatting across all documentation.
  • Explore and implement multimedia elements, such as videos, pictures, and interactive guides, to enhance the accessibility and usability of technical documentation.
  • Create/support an architecture for documentation between business units that deliver similar content for technical and marketing documents, using consistent naming conventions and common sources of information.
  • Maintain a long-term view of projects and deliverables, aligning product documentation efforts with the company's strategic goals.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in technical writing or equivalent experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience required.
  • Results-driven, critical thinker with a proven technical content development track record. 
  • Strong understanding of engineering concepts and the ability to translate technical information into user-friendly documentation.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality, error-free documentation.
  • Proficient with documentation design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft or similar applications.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.
  • Excellent ability to work independently to increase and gather knowledge.


 Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in electronics industry and/or within a company that manufactures component and systems solutions.
  • Experience with tools that use a common set of source files to generate various content, such as MadCap Flare.

 

Location: This position is located in Longmont, CO with the option to work a hybrid schedule once training is completed. 

 

Base Compensation: $76,000 - $110,000 is the projected compensation range for this role depending on the candidate’s overall qualifications and experience. 

 

Closing Date: March 31st, 2026. While we expect to keep the position open through this date, the posting may be extended or closed early based on applicant volume and hiring needs.
