Position Summary:

The Banquet Serve is responsible for ensuring that all guests receive the highest level of service possible. The Server is responsible for the set-up and tear down of all functions and must always maintain an elevated level of professionalism. The Banquet Server will be expected to work as part of a team, communicate effectively with other team members, and ensure that all functions are completed in a timely and efficient manner. 

 

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

The Banquet Team Member is responsible for the following duties:

  • Set up banquet rooms according to guest specifications, including table placement, linens, chairs, and decorations as required.
  • Ensure all required equipment, such as audiovisual and lighting systems, are functioning properly prior to function.
  • Welcome guests in a professional and courteous manner, and ensure their needs are met throughout the function.

  • Serve food and beverages to guests in accordance with proper fine dining service procedures.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of banquet rooms, equipment, and supplies before, during, and after functions.
  • Communicate with other team members to ensure effective teamwork and customer satisfaction.
  • Respond to guest requests with promptness, accuracy, and a sense of urgency.
  • Complete all related paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Attend all required training and meetings to maintain an elevated level of service quality.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines for a safe working environment.
  • Suggest and implement ideas to enhance guest experience and overall banquet service.
  • Run food from the kitchen to the banquet service areas.
  • Set up buffets with food presentation standards and practices in mind, ensuring safe food handling performance.
  • Serve plated dinners to guests and respond to requests for beverages, appetizers, and other needs.
  • Clean up venue after event ends and assist with inventory, food storage and other closeout tasks.
  • Provide prompt and professional service during banquet meal functions.
  • Be neat, well groomed, and in proper uniform.
  • Complete all banquet server-side work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications – Education and Experience:


 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in waitressing and/or related experience of operation. 
  • Complete knowledge of all aspects of Food & Beverage operations.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Works well under pressure. 
  • Customer service orientated.
  • Friendly and outgoing.
  • Must be flexible with schedule during busy banquet seasons.

 

Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and requires overall good mental and physical health.

Physical Demands:

Ability to stand, sit, and walk extended periods of time. 

Ability to lift, pull and push up to 50 pounds. 
Ability to endure adverse weather conditions if working outdoor events. 
Ability to climb ladders.
Ability to bend and squat repeatedly.

Ability to work in repetitive motion for significant periods of time.
 Ability to tolerate various scents, noises, and bright lights.

Must have hearing and excellent speaking ability.
 

Preference:
