Metrodoc Urgent Care in Belleville, NJ, is looking for a full-time or part-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our team. We provide high-quality, walk-in medical care for a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries. As an FNP at our state-of-the-art facility, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics. This role requires a compassionate professional who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care: Provide comprehensive medical care for urgent and non-emergent conditions, including performing physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests (e.g., digital x-rays, on-site labs), and managing patient flow.
Diagnosis & Treatment: Diagnose and treat a variety of acute illnesses and injuries, such as lacerations, fractures, sprains, infections, and other common medical issues. .
Procedural Skills: Perform minor procedures, including but not limited to suturing lacerations, draining abscesses, and setting minor fractures.
Collaboration: Work closely with our medical director, physicians, and other clinical staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care. You will also supervise and direct other clinical staff while on shift.
Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic health records (EHR) for all patients in compliance with clinical protocols.
Patient Education: Instruct and counsel patients and their families regarding their diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education: A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited FNP program.
Licensure: Must have a current, active, and unencumbered Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) license in New Jersey. Also requires a NJ C.D.S. card and a Federal D.E.A. license.
Certification: Board-certification is required, preferably as a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
Experience: Prior experience in an urgent care or emergency room setting is highly preferred.
Skills:
Demonstrated ability to perform medical care for patients of all ages.
Strong clinical skills, including procedural competency (suturing, splinting, etc.).
Excellent communication skills with both patients and staff.
Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
A clean medical malpractice record.
High-energy individual with a positive attitude.
Certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification is preferred.
Work Schedule: We offer flexible scheduling, including 12-, 6-, and 4-hour shifts for part-time and 12-hour shifts for full-time. Weekend availability is required.
