Our busy, well-established practice is seeking a professional Front Desk Medical Assistant to be the welcoming face of our healthcare team.

Position Overview

We are looking for an organized and personable Medical Assistant to manage patient interactions, scheduling, and administrative duties in our fast-paced orthopedic office. This role is essential to ensuring smooth operations and exceptional patient experiences from check-in to check-out.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors in a professional, friendly manner
  • Rooming patients (vitals, history updates, chief complaint)
  • Removing sutures/staples and applying steri-srips
  • Wound care and dressing changes
  • Assisting with casting and splinting
  • Applying/removing casts
  • Assisting with brace fittings (knee, wrist, ankle, etc.)
  • Preparing injection materials (cortisone, viscosupplementation, PRP)
  • Assisting with in-office procedures (aspirations, joint injections) 
  • Updating patient charts in EMR systems 
  • Entering orders for PT, DME, imaging, labs 
  • Completing disability/FMLA paperwork 
  • Manage patient records and maintain confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)
  • Pre-op education and instructions 
  • Collecting surgical clearances and labs 
  • Handling post-op patient calls and concerns 
  • Support other administrative tasks as needed

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Medical Assistant certification or healthcare administrative experience preferred
  • Minimum 1-2 years customer service experience
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Professional phone etiquette and customer service skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
