The Opportunity
We are seeking a Lead Consultant – SAP ABAP with strong technical and functional experience in SAP implementation and support projects. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in ABAP development, especially within Plant Maintenance (PM) and Materials Management (MM), and will work as Lead consultant and Monitor and guide the team

This is a client-facing leadership role requiring strong ownership, solutioning capability, and global delivery exposure.

How You Will Make An Impact.

• Lead end-to-end SAP ABAP development activities across implementation and support projects.
• Strong in RICEF concepts along with ODATA
• Design and architect scalable, high-performance technical solutions aligned with business requirements.
• Drive ABAP on HANA developments using new ABAP 7.4+ syntax, CDS Views, AMDP, and performance optimization techniques.
• Lead development in BADI, BAPI, Enhancements, User Exits, ODATA services, and custom frameworks.
• Oversee ABAP developments within the PM module (Work Orders, Notifications, Functional Locations, Equipment) and MM module.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and review code to ensure quality standards.
• Participate in requirement gathering workshops and translate functional specifications into technical designs.
• Handle complex integrations and interface developments.
• Work closely with functional consultants, architects, and client stakeholders across global delivery projects.
• Ensure adherence to development best practices, naming conventions, performance tuning, and transport management.
• Contribute to estimation, planning, risk mitigation, and solution governance.

What You Bring to the Team:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6 to 8 years of strong SAP ABAP development experience across implementation and support engagements.
• Proven experience leading end-to-end SAP ABAP development activities for large-scale implementation projects, preferably for product-based environments like Innovapptive.
• Strong expertise in RICEF objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms).

Technical Expertise

• Strong Object-Oriented ABAP development experience.
• Deep expertise in ABAP on HANA, including:
• New ABAP 7.4+ syntax
• CDS Views
• AMDP
• Performance optimization techniques

Extensive hands-on experience in:

• BADI, BAPI
• User Exits, Customer Exits
• Enhancement Framework, Enhancement Points & Spots
• ODATA services
•  Custom frameworks
• Strong experience in ECC to S/4HANA migration projects.

Expertise in form developments:

• Experienced in SmartForms, SAP Scripts and Adobe Forms
• Strong experience in SAP Label Printing, including Knowledge on NACE configuration for output types
• Spool creation and print management

Functional & Module Expertise

• Extensive experience in PM and MM module-related ABAP developments with strong functional understanding.
• Hands-on experience in PM objects including: Work Orders, Notifications, Functional Locations and Equipment

Leadership & Delivery Capabilities

• Ability to design and develop custom enhancements using BADIs and Enhancement Framework based on business requirements for Innovapptive products.
• Experience leading technical design discussions and translating functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Strong experience handling complex integrations and interface developments.
• Proven experience in global client-facing roles and distributed delivery models.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor junior developers, and conduct code reviews to ensure quality standards.
• Ensure adherence to development best practices, naming conventions, performance tuning standards, and transport management processes.
• Contribute to estimation, planning, risk mitigation, and solution governance activities.

Professional Skills

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and solution design capabilities.
• Exposure to the S/4HANA environment is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.

 Preferred:

• knowledge on working with AI Tool for coding. Ie Cursor , Sap Joule and Chat GPT
• Skill in Node JS and MongoDB is added advantage
