The Private Duty Nurse (PDN) is a valued member of the client care team that provides meaningful nursing services to pediatric patients right here in our local community, opportunities to support them one-on-one both in the home and in the school setting. Long term stable client census exists, opportunities to be with the same patient to support their long-term growth and development.
Core Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Evaluates and treats clients with appropriate level of skill according to client's needs under the supervision of an RN, Clinical Manager.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Provide nursing services both in the home and school environment.
- Verbal demonstrations of client rights and responsibilities
- Support case management by coordinating patient care plans and follow-up appointments.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations through eMAR systems.
- Demonstrate proper use of equipment.
- Ensure HIPAA regulations are adhered to.
- All other duties assigned.
Scheduling:
Flexible schedule, days, nights, weekends, PRN opportunities.
Variety of shift lengths available, from short single visits up to 12 hour shifts.

Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Licensure / Certification: Registered Nurse who is licensed by the State of Michigan. Must have a current, unencumbered license as an RN. Must be in good standing in the state of Michigan. Must maintain all state and federal compliance requirements for licensure and employment.
- Travel: Travel is required for business purposes. Employees must have a valid driver’s license issued by the state in which they work and a satisfactory driving record.
- Work Experience: Minimum of one year of home care experience. One additional year of nursing experience, preferably in a hospital.
- Skills and Additional Requirements:
- Experienced with G-Tube feeding
- Experienced with Trachs/Vents
- Experienced with cough assist treatment
- Experienced with seizure interventions
- Experienced with straight catheterization
- Ability to use computerized eMAR and documentation systems.
- Satisfactory verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
