Overview

The purpose of this role is to keep Heirloom’s New Orleans pools and hot tubs clean, safe, and usable for our guests. This will involve a caseload of 15-25 pools (depending on how close they are to one another), each cleaned 2x weekly. The pool technician will drive their vehicle to each pool location, perform their routine hygiene service, document it, and then proceed to the next location until they have completed the assigned caseload. 


While water amenities will be the central focus of this role, the pool technician should also expect to assist the maintenance and property management team with misc. facilities management tasks, as the need arises.  


Essential Functions

Measuring and balancing pool chemicals - water amenities can be used safely. Adding acid, chlorine, and other chemicals to correct pH level for safe water amenity use. Cleaning the swimming pool using authorized equipment: skimming, vacuuming, scrubbing. Completing paperwork and reporting service requirements to management using a mobile application. Fitting and repairing pipes and plumbing for spas and pools.Servicing and fixing faulty pool cleaning equipment.Evaluate quotes from third-party vendors, actively negotiate ratesReporting any needed repairs, low-stock items, and facilities maintenance needs in a timely fashion.Communicating with and managing third-party vendors to escalate repairs, as appropriateWorking collaboratively with the local property operations team to complete misc facilities management tasksAssist with onboarding new pools, as needed: completing the intake form, programming equipment settings, getting the pool remote online, etc. Special projects, as assigned. Responsible for measuring, reporting, and recording pool chemistry levels for each visit.

Requisites

Must have knowledge of and working experience with and on Hayward brand gas heaters and the Hayward Control Panels.Must have a valid driver’s license, an upstanding driving record, reliable transportation to and from the New Orleans market. Mileage reimbursement will be provided on a weekly basis.Lives in close or commutable proximity to New Orleans, LACST or CSP pool certification strongly preferred; will consider applicants with significant experience working with saltwater pools. Prior experience working on heated saltwater pools. Extensive knowledge of proper pool cleaning and maintenance methods, specifically saltwater pools. Extensive knowledge of swimming pool chemicals and their properties.Ability to comfortably lift 50 lbs independently 1-3x daily during working hours. Our pools and spas are located outdoors, service is performed 2x weekly year round, rain or shine, pool service must be performed in inclement weather at times.   

Schedule & Compensation

The pool technician is a part-time hourly role based in New Orleans, LA. The work schedule is variable and is based on business needs. Role Schedule for ~24 hrs/week, and pay rate is based on experience.
