Registered Nurse, Outpatient Total Joint

About this position

We are looking for full-time Registered Nurse to join our team in our Outpatient Total Joint team at our Physician's Pavilion clinic in Vancouver, WA. This position supports the care for patients in the Outpatient Total Joint program. The candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, a superior commitment to patient care, and the ability to work closely with patients and physicians.


Responsibilities:

  • Work in collaboration with the Total Joint Program Manager, surgeons, AP staff at Rebound Orthopedics, and ambulatory nursing staff to promote optimal care.
  • Support program by maintaining best practices/process around evidence-based care of patients.
  • Working directly with patient’s pre and postoperatively providing education, counseling, follow-up phone calls, and care management.  
  • Collaborate with patient, family, and other health care professionals regarding goals and implementation of patient plan of care.
  • Assists in review of patient charts and update information in the electronic health record to include patient medications, allergies, problem list.
  • Prioritize work and effectively manage time and projects with minimal supervision.
  • Engage in continuing education and ongoing professional development to maintain skill and knowledge base in orthopedic care with recommendation of minimum of 8 hours annually specific to orthopedic care.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements:

Education: Associate degree in Nursing. 

Licensure/Certification: Current RN License in Washington. BLS certification.

Experience: Minimum 5 years clinic or hospital nursing experience required. Strong background in orthopedics. Relevant experience in one or more of the following healthcare areas preferred: ambulatory care; care in a hospital setting. This position requires extensive knowledge of disease management to include diagnostic, treatment and prognosis. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Proficiency in ability to use computer.  Demonstrated skills in patient assessment, multidisciplinary collaboration, problem solving, teaching, excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Demands: Normal vision, finger dexterity.  Requires frequent mobility or sitting for extended periods of time.  Some bending and stooping required.  Occasional lifting of files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Required to use the telephone and to work under pressure.

Working Conditions: Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
