About this position

Position Purpose

The Quality Specialist is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and improving company and regulatory quality standards within a production manufacturing environment. This role requires strong knowledge of industry and governmental quality regulations and plays a critical role in ensuring products, processes, and systems consistently meet established quality, safety, and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Standards & Compliance

  • Ensure products and processes adhere to established quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain compliance with industry regulations, certifications, and company quality policies.

  • Stay current on regulatory changes that may impact quality systems and manufacturing processes.

Quality Inspections, Audits & Testing

  • Conduct quality inspections and audits of products, processes, and systems.

  • Perform visual inspections, measurements, and documentation reviews to identify deviations.

  • Plan, develop, and execute tests to evaluate product performance, functionality, and reliability.

  • Analyze test results and identify defects, trends, or areas for improvement.

Documentation & Quality Systems

  • Manage and maintain quality documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and quality records.

  • Maintain and update Quality Management System (QMS) documentation to reflect process or regulatory changes.

  • Ensure document control practices are followed accurately and consistently.

Nonconformance & Root Cause Analysis

  • Identify, document, and manage nonconformances and quality deviations.

  • Perform root cause analysis and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

  • Validate the effectiveness of corrective actions.

Continuous Improvement

  • Propose and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product and process quality.

  • Support validation and verification activities for new or improved processes.

  • Validate and document the impact of process changes on product quality.

Quality Metrics & Reporting

  • Establish, monitor, and analyze key quality performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Prepare quality reports and communicate results to management and stakeholders.

Supplier Quality Management

  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure incoming materials and components meet quality requirements.

  • Conduct supplier audits, assessments, and performance evaluations.

Training & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Provide quality-related training and education to employees on standards, procedures, and best practices.

  • Work closely with production, engineering, R&D, and other departments to support a holistic quality approach.

Risk Management & Customer Feedback

  • Assess and manage risks related to product and process quality.

  • Collect, analyze, and respond to customer quality feedback and complaints.

  • Use customer input to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.

Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)

  • Ensure quality processes align with environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards.
