About this position

Job Description:

 Work with the faculty supervisor to determine research that is needed, then prepare clay test tiles, mix glazes, apply, fire, and keep good records. With the supervisor, research, plan, and upgrade safety standards in the glaze room, and with materials, storage, and labeling. If needed, reorganize areas of the room, create a new space for display of glaze test tiles, and prepare new labels for storage containers. 

Present demonstrations and discussions for informational sessions in the ceramics department.

Assist with the preparation of the studio space for the semester.

Qualifications/Skills Needed:

Good communication skills.

Knowledge of raw clay and glaze materials, testing procedures, and record-keeping skills.

Aptitude for researching and implementing new safety standards, procedures, storage, and labeling of materials in the glaze room.

Ability to follow directions, often working without direct supervision.

Must be organized, punctual, and dependable.


Salary Information

$13.75 Hourly Wage
