School Overview: Three Tree Montessori School, established in 2003, serves 200 children ages 15 months through 12 years as an independent, Montessori day school over a 9.5 month school year and approximately 100 children during the 8-9 week summer program. The school aims to provide an excellent academic education while empowering children to become independent, creative, empathetic life-long learners who will build a better world.
Business Manager Position Description:
Three Tree is seeking an outstanding Business Manager to join the administrative team immediately. The Business Manager will oversee the business and facility operations, ensure compliance with government regulations, and manage all school finances. Excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills are required.

Business Manager Responsibilities and Duties:
Financial Management and Reporting

Manage all school finances including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and prepare financial reports

Work with Head of School (HOS) and Board of Trustee Finance Committee to create annual budget and long term planning

Provide timely, relevant and accurate fiscal information to the board and HOS

Be prepared to plan, coordinate, lead and provide follow-up for finance committee meetings

Work with accountant on reviews and 990 filings
-
Manages and tracks fundraising efforts

Manage tuition assistance program
-
Oversee school expenditure process
-
Establish internal controls and procedures
-
Assist in analysis of current and future programs

Oversee insurance policies and audits for property, workman’s compensation, liability and director’s liability
Regulatory Compliance
-
Responsible for and adheres to compliance with all federal and state minimum licensing, training, educational, professional development, and safety requirements for self and entire staff.

Manage DCYF licensing and MERIT system, AMI accreditation, Early Achievers program, and OSPI compliance.

Stay informed of regulatory issues as pertains to the school

Ensure policies and practices align to regulatory requirements

Ensure record-keeping complies with regulations

Prepare and file government reports accurately and on time
Facility, Property and IT Management

Responsible for safety, cleanliness, security and appearance of grounds, buildings and equipment

Manage facilities maintenance and renovations

Handle vendor contracts
-
Manage supplies orders with assistance from Administrative Assistant

Develop and update deferred maintenance plan annually

Develop inventory process for preservation of school assets

Evaluate and manage risks
Human Resources

Collaborate with HOS to establish wage and benefit objectives within the approved budget that are equitable and consistent

Continuously update Employee Handbook to align to legislative requirements and policy updates

Oversee and manage all aspects of payroll and staff benefits including evaluating insurances

Compile and maintain assistant/support staff files in accordance with federal and state regulations
Additional Responsibilities

Maintain confidentiality in all relationships

Support and uphold the policies of the school to families, faculty and the public

Conduct self in manner to promote a positive organizational culture and effective staff relations

Support coordination of special events

Attend school events
-
Handle regular communications with students and families including questions and concerns

Offer assistance to HOS in administrative capacity

Perform other responsibilities as required
Business Manager Qualifications

Degree in Accounting, Finance, Non-Profit Management, or Business Management/Administration
-
Strong financial and accounting expertise
-
Ability to identify priorities when developing budgets
-
Strong communication and problem solving skills
-
Experience in not-for-profit preferred
-
Experience in a school environment preferred
-
Human resources experience is preferred
-
Willingness to learn about the Montessori educational philosophy
Business Manager Requirements

Negative TB test upon hire or within the last 12 months
-
MMR vaccination
-
First Aid, CPR, and Bloodborne Pathogens training (completed upon hire)

Clear background check and driving record
Business Manager Salary
Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
