Position SummaryThe position of Parts Associate is responsible for supporting the Fraley and Schilling Parts area within the Maintenance Department. The primary goal is to assist the Shop Manager with the daily responsibilities of the maintenance and parts department to ensure that responsibilities listed are carried out in a timely and efficient manner.Roles & ResponsibilitiesDevelop, support, and enforce the Fraley and Schilling established parts processes.Train all maintenance staff on parts within the shop and the inventory of these partsOversee and manage parts workstation.Create Parts in Parts Catalog and Parts Masters.FManage setting minimum and maximum settings on all parts based on usage. This is for all shop locations.Run replenish reports and make stock orders on parts and tires Review and process Potential Warranty Claims in TMT.Work with OTR Manager on capturing warranty claims performed over the road.Review and approve all Invoices before they are finalized in TMT for payment.Process any warranty payments/refunds in TMT.Manage the sorting and tagging of parts from mechanics (scrap, cores, warranty items).Manage shipping back all failed parts for exchange, cores, or warranty.Coordinate monthly inventory counts and enter adjustments into TMT for monthly inventory totals.Run monthly tests for any required parts Skills & QualificationsBasic computer skills and use of various computer software Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem.Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organizationAbility to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.Must be able to deal with a fast paced and stressful work environmentEducation & ExperienceAssociate’s Degree degree preferred or equivalent work experience2-3 years of transportation experience 2-3 years of experience managing a parts department within a maintenance service center Physical DemandsStandFrequentlyClimbN/AWalkOccasionally CrawlN/ASitFrequentlySquat/KneelN/AManually ManipulateOccasionally BendOccasionally Reach OutwardOccasionally GraspOccasionally Reach Above ShoulderOccasionally SpeakOccasionally
