Position Summary

The Shop Foreman is the technical leader of the service department, responsible for overseeing repair quality, supporting technicians, and ensuring Land Rover repair standards are met or exceeded. This role serves as the primary diagnostic authority, mentor, and workflow coordinator within the shop, helping drive efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the lead technical expert for Land Rover diagnostics, repairs, and warranty procedures
     
  • Assist technicians with complex diagnostics, drivability concerns, and advanced electrical issues
     
  • Ensure all repairs meet Land Rover factory standards and dealership quality expectations
     
  • Monitor workflow, productivity, and repair timelines to maximize shop efficiency
     
  • Perform quality control checks on completed repairs before vehicle delivery
     
  • Support technician development through coaching, training, and hands-on guidance
     
  • Collaborate with the Service Manager and Advisors to resolve technical issues and customer concerns
     
  • Stay current on Land Rover technical bulletins, recalls, software updates, and repair procedures
     
  • Oversee proper use of diagnostic tools, special tools, and shop equipment
     
  • Promote a clean, safe, and organized work environment
     
  • Assist with warranty documentation and ensure compliance with manufacturer requirements
     

Qualifications & Experience

  • Extensive experience as an automotive technician, preferably with Land Rover or luxury brands
     
  • Strong diagnostic skills, especially in electrical, drivability, and network systems
     
  • Prior leadership, foreman, or mentoring experience preferred
     
  • Land Rover certifications strongly preferred (or willingness to obtain)
     
  • Ability to read and interpret factory service information and wiring diagrams
     
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
     
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
