 SUMMARY OF DUTIES  

Promote a safe environment by assisting with the preparation and implementation of core HSE programs, policies and initiatives.   

REPORTS TO / SUPERVISES  

Reports To: HSE Manager  

Supervises: N/A  

RESPONSIBILITIES  

This position will have the following general/minimum responsibilities:  

· Coach and mentor employees to improve safety.  

· Ensure adherence to SII HSE Management System requirements.  

· Provide technical support as needed.  

· Oversee Worker Safety Teams.  

· Review JSA’s and perform quality checks.  

· Encourage continuous improvement in safety.  

· Participate in safety audits and assessments.  

· Collect and share lessons learned and best practices.  

· Lead or participate in incident investigations.  

· Assist with management safety walkthroughs and observations.  

· Conduct site safety inspections and assessments, and observation and intervention (O&I) cards.  

· Participate in safety planning processes such as Hazard Analysis, Root Case Analysis and Job Safety Analysis, Toolbox Talks, and Safety Trainings.  

· Review of HAZID/HAZOP’s and all other risk assessment activities.  

· Attend and participate in project planning.  

· Ensure that subcontractors meet SII HSE expectations.  

· During mobilization, participate in kick-off meetings and review commissioning procedures. Review load-out and transportation procedures and review training of personnel prior to field operations.  

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE  

The following education, experience and knowledge are preferred for this position:  

· High School diploma and three years related experience in HSE work for oil and gas fabrication industry; or equivalent combination of college education and experience.  

· Knowledge of HSE procedures and regulations.  

· Proficient written and verbal communication skills – bi-lingual (English & Spanish) a plus.  

· Excellent interpersonal skills; maintain appropriate communications within area of responsibility and between divisions and departments.  

· Proficient in applicable software applications including MS Office software.  

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS  

· Night Shift à 5:00pm – 5:00am (time may vary depending on current project work demands).  

· Working conditions are divided between an office environment and shop/yard environment, which involves some exposure to dust, high noise levels, industrial machinery and mobile equipment traffic and varying weather conditions.  

· Actively on shop floor majority of shift.  

· Extended periods of standing and/or walking.  

· Fast paced environment with multiple priorities.  

· Periodic travel for company business.
