What Youll Do
- Ensure
security of assigned posts by staying alert and proactive in preventing
emergencies and elopements.
- Monitor
activities of individuals served, responding to and de-escalating
disruptive or aggressive behavior.
- Operate
and monitor facility security systems, including communications,
surveillance, alarms, and perimeter systems.
- Conduct
searches of individuals, living areas, and communal spaces to prevent
contraband.
- Control
and monitor all facility entry and exit points, verifying identification
and ensuring compliance with security procedures.
- Respond
to emergency calls, applying safe aggression-control techniques to protect
individuals and staff.
- Inspect
the facility environment for safety risks or hazards.
- Monitor
vehicular traffic and maintain surveillance of parking areas.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Experience
- Completion of basic recruit training course(s) or equivalent as defined by
state certification/licensing authority (required if applicable)
Licenses/Certifications
- Must meet state minimum age requirements (required)
- Valid state drivers license (required)
