Position Overview
The Certified Surgical Scrub Technician (CST) is a member of the surgical staff specializing in supporting and anticipating the needs of each surgeon. They must have the necessary knowledge to understand and react quickly in an operating room. Certified Scrub Tech’s are responsible for preparing, organizing, cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining a sterile environment in the operating room. The CST is responsible for supporting and maintaining the surgical practice by upholding established policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement, and safety.

Experience
Any combination of education and experience that would demonstrate a high level of proficiency and advanced understanding of healthcare operations.
- Current licensure as a CST is preferred, not required
- 1+ years of related surgical experience preferred
- BLS and/or ACLS required
- Nextech Software experience is desired
Core Competencies
While performing the duties of this job, a scrub technician may be required:
- To stand and walk for long periods of time
- To sit at a desk on a computer for long periods of time
- Occasionally will be required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
