Senior Director of Health Services (NHA) Position Summary
The Senior Director of Health Services serves as the licensed Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) and provides executive leadership over all healthcare operations across the community. This role is responsible for regulatory compliance, clinical quality, operational performance, and financial oversight while ensuring residents receive high-quality, person-centered care.
The Senior Director works closely with executive leadership and department heads to align healthcare operations with organizational goals, regulatory standards, and best practices in senior living.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the licensed Administrator of Record with AHCA for the Skilled Nursing Facility
- Provide executive oversight of Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, and Memory Care operations
- Ensure continuous compliance with AHCA, CMS, OSHA, CDC, and applicable state and federal regulations
- Lead survey readiness efforts and manage all state and federal inspections, plans of correction, and follow-up
- Oversee Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives
- Develop, manage, and monitor the Health Services budget, staffing plans, and operational performance
- Collaborate with the Business Office on reimbursement, billing, and financial performance
- Lead and support department heads through coaching, performance management, and professional development
- Partner with the Director of Nursing to ensure effective care planning, clinical oversight, and care transitions
- Address resident and family concerns with professionalism, empathy, and timely resolution
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence
Qualifications and Requirements
- Active Florida Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) license in good standing (required)
- Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field required; Masters degree preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible healthcare or senior living leadership experience
- At least three (3) years of experience in a supervisory or executive leadership role
- Strong knowledge of AHCA and CMS regulations, survey processes, and infection control standards
- Experience in a CCRC or multi-level care environment strongly preferred
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and drive operational and clinical performance
