Overview: Responsible for preparing food ingredients from tasks such as washing, chopping, slicing and following recipes.  The employee must maintain a clean kitchen by washing dishes and storing them properly.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in food preparation, including washing, chopping, slicing and measuring ingredients for various dishes.
  • Follow recipes and portion sizes as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager.
  • Ability to work under pressure, take direction, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Communicates and coordinates with the broiler cook to ensure that all food products are prepared and ready for service at the correct time.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including ovens, grills, and slicers.
  • Restocks all food items, condiments, plate ware, equipment and supplies throughout the shift to ensure sufficient stock levels for the demands of business.
  • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans using dishwasher or by hand.
  • Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition.
  • Clean garbage cans.
  • Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas.
  • Sort and remove trash, place it in designated pickup areas.
  • Sweep and scrub floors.
  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, by hand.
  • Perform routine cleaning of kitchen space including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, trash removal, moving dirty pots and pans and stocking clean etc.
