Salary Range: $170,000–$185,000 annually

About the Role

Friends House Retirement Community is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic and operational leadership across all financial functions of our nonprofit Life Plan Community. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFO partners closely with senior leadership and the Board to ensure financial strength, accountability, and long-term sustainability in support of our mission and Quaker guiding principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for all accounting, billing, budgeting, and financial reporting functions
  • Prepare and present financial analyses, reports, and forecasts for the CEO and Board of Directors
  • Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, and fixed assets
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes and ensure strong internal controls
  • Coordinate audits, cost reports, Form 990, and other required federal and state filings
  • Collaborate with department heads on budgeting, financial planning, and operational efficiency
  • Provides oversight of Information Technology (IT), strategic planning and ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Supervise and develop the Business Office team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or graduate degree preferred)
  • CPA preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of financial operations experience
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience, ideally in senior living, healthcare, or a nonprofit environment
  • Strong financial acumen, leadership skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $170,000–$185,000
