Technical Project Manager
Catalyst Acoustics is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with a background in wood manufacturing and acoustical product workflows. This role is critical in bridging estimating, engineering, and production by ensuring accurate translation of quotes and shop drawings into manufacturable steps. The Technical Project Manager will also play a key role in training, continuous improvement, and quality assurance throughout all stages of production.
Responsibilities:
- Project Translation & Coordination
- Collaborate with estimating and CAD/CAM teams to validate accuracy of quotes, shop drawings, and programming.
- Translate complex project details into actionable, sequenced steps for manufacturing, ensuring requirements are fully understood and achievable.
- Coordinate with scheduling to plan and manage production timing, flow, and resource allocation.
- Develop and distribute detailed project “kits” for production teams.
- Understanding and education on material alternatives with estimating and design.
- Training & Development
- Deliver technical and quality training on each product type as it moves into manufacturing.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions to ensure consistency and repeatability.
- Provide LEAN–based training and apply process improvement methods across production areas.
- Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with Quality Control to ensure standards are upheld at every stage of production.
- Identify, implement, and train teams on continuous flow opportunities across workstations.
- Think critically and act decisively to resolve technical or assembly-related challenges.
- Monitor performance against benchmarks and recommend adjustments to improve efficiency, cost control, and quality outcomes.
- Collaboration & Team Engagement
- Function as an active and engaged team member, working closely with estimating, CAD/CAM, scheduling, and production teams.
- Communicate effectively across departments to align on timelines, deliverables, and quality expectations.
- Support a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous learning.
- Works closely with purchasing to maintain accurate pricing and availably of raw material and received materials.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration preferred, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management.
- Strong project management skills, including proficiency with project management software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Experience with budget management and financial reporting.
