About the Role
Imperial Golf Club is seeking a Clubhouse Grounds Landscape Supervisor to oversee and perform all landscape maintenance for the clubhouse grounds area. This is a hands-on, working supervisor role responsible for ensuring the clubhouse grounds are pristine, formal, and inviting for members and guests, while leading and coordinating assigned staff or contractors.
This position is critical to maintaining the aesthetic appeal, safety, and functionality of the clubhouse grounds and requires extensive knowledge of Southwest Florida plant materials and proper trimming techniques. The Supervisor will report to the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent and will take ownership of clubhouse landscape operations, plantings, and seasonal change-outs.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and perform daily landscape maintenance for the clubhouse grounds, including mowing, edging, trimming, weeding, and debris removal from paths and common areas
Plant, water, prune, fertilize, and maintain flowers, shrubs, and trees to achieve a consistently high-quality presentation
Supervise, train, and schedule assigned grounds staff or contractors working in clubhouse landscape areas
Coordinate sod installation, mulch application, and seasonal flower change-outs
Apply expert knowledge of Southwest Florida plant materials and proper trimming techniques to maintain formal landscape beds
Maintain cleanliness and appearance of garden beds, clubhouse entrances, patios, and walkways
Inspect and monitor irrigation and drainage needs; coordinate repairs as necessary
Follow all club safety procedures and ensure appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Qualifications
Extensive landscaping or grounds maintenance experience in a private club, resort, or comparable high-end property
Demonstrated expertise with Southwest Florida landscape plant materials (herbaceous and woody) and formal trimming techniques
Knowledge of basic horticulture and landscape maintenance practices
Proven ability to lead a team while also performing hands-on work
Valid driver’s license required
Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) a plus
Physical Requirements
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, and sun exposure
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods of time
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
Ability to safely operate landscaping equipment, hand tools, and power tools
Ability to visually inspect landscape conditions and perform detailed trimming and planting tasks
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as operationally necessary
