Job Summary

The Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing project schedules for MIG’s industrial construction and fabrication projects using Procore. This position ensures schedules are accurate, coordinated, and aligned with resource availability and project objectives.
 
 While Procore will serve as the primary scheduling and coordination platform, familiarity with Primavera P6 is preferred as MIG plans to expand future scheduling capabilities to support large-scale and complex projects.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project schedules within Procore, ensuring accuracy, sequencing, and alignment with project milestones.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Logistics and Procurement to establish baseline schedules and provide regular updates.
  • Track progress, identify critical paths, and provide early warnings for potential schedule delays or impacts.
  • Generate weekly and monthly reports, dashboards, and look-ahead schedules for project teams and leadership.
  • Coordinate with Procurement and Logistics to align material deliveries with fabrication and field milestones.
  • Integrate subcontractor and vendor timelines into master schedules to maintain alignment and accountability.
  • Attend project and coordination meetings to present schedule updates and support project planning discussions.
  • Support manpower and resource forecasting by identifying workforce needs based on active and upcoming projects.
  • Maintain historical schedule data and assist in developing schedule benchmarks for future work.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of scheduling processes and tools across the organization.

 

Competencies

Required

  • Strong understanding of industrial construction sequencing, fabrication workflows, and field coordination.
  • Proficiency in Procore scheduling and project management tools.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 or willingness to develop proficiency in the platform.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to coordinate across departments and teams.
  • Experience developing and managing multiple schedules simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet, Power BI, or other reporting platforms preferred.

Preferred 

  • Experience working with cryogenic, piping, or cold box projects preferred.
  • Proficiency in Procore and working knowledge of Primavera P6.
  • Understanding of cost controls, earned value management (EVM), and forecasting.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 2–5 years of scheduling experience in industrial or heavy construction environments.
