POSITION OVERVIEW

The Pharmacy Technician assists the Pharmacist in overall day-to-day operations of the pharmacy.

SCHEDULE AND PAY

This is a full-time (40 hour) position.

Clinic Open: Monday – Thursday 8AM - 7PM, Friday 8AM – 5PM, and Saturday 8AM – 12PM. Scheduling needs will be discussed during interview.

Pay offer is based on education, certification and experience, and the hourly range is $18 - $21.

DUTIES

• Assists in preparing prescriptions accurately and answering patient questions.
• Records medical information using the pharmacy's management software
• Measures, counts, and mixes medication for prescriptions
• Verifies insurance information, and addresses conflicts with patients or insurance billing companies
• Answers the phone, takes messages and prescription refill information
• Maintains and assists with inventory levels.
• Receives, labels and stocks prescription drugs and prescription supplies
• Assists patients in the enrollment and re-enrollment of pharmaceutical assistance programs
• Assists with maintaining pharmacy compliance.
• Cleans and maintains the pharmacy area
• Completes refrigerator temperature report log

QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), Iowa Pharmacy Technician Registration or Trainee Registration Certification required
• Bilingual (Spanish) desired
• Basic Life Support/CPR Certification required, training will be provided
• High school diploma or GED required.
