About the Role:

The GL Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity and accuracy of the company's general ledger within the manufacturing industry. This position is responsible for ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded correctly and timely, supporting month-end and year-end closing processes. The GL Accountant will analyze account balances, reconcile discrepancies, and prepare detailed financial reports to assist management in decision-making. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory control to ensure comprehensive financial data accuracy. Ultimately, the GL Accountant contributes to the company’s financial health by upholding compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in general ledger accounting, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA certification or progress towards CPA licensure.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Familiarity with cost accounting principles specific to manufacturing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual in Mandarin 

Responsibilities:

• Lead specific daily, year/month-end close processes, journal entries, accruals, and adjustment.
• Completion of month-end close process to ensure accuracy of accounting records.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts.
• Maintain general ledger integrity, perform reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Balance intercompany balances with affiliated businesses.
• Analytical review of the operations from a balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow perspective.
• Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
• Contribute to the month-end and year-end closing processes by performing reconciliations, allocations and journal entries.
• Assist with external audits on annual basis.
• Communication is necessary to answer questions and inform business partners concerning financial performance and business issues.
• Perform other related duties as required to assist with operations and business continuity. All other duties as assigned.
• Cost Control 

The GL Accountant utilizes strong accounting knowledge and analytical skills daily to ensure the accuracy of financial records and compliance with accounting standards. Proficiency in accounting software and Excel is essential for preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and generating reports efficiently. Communication skills are important for collaborating with various departments to resolve discrepancies and support audit processes. Attention to detail is critical when reviewing financial data to identify errors or unusual transactions. Additionally, problem-solving skills help the accountant to streamline processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.
