Position Overview

USA Sports Inc., a national wholesale distributor within the fitness equipment industry, is seeking a Senior Accountant to strengthen financial accuracy, pricing visibility and analysis to support operational decision-making

This role goes beyond transactional accounting. The Senior Accountant will serve as a key contributor to financial reporting, inventory and cost analysis, and SKU-level profitability insight. The position requires strong technical accounting skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to collaborate with operations, procurement, and executive leadership.

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) and inventory-driven environments is highly valued.

 

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Close Process

  • Maintain general ledger integrity and prepare complex journal entries, accruals, and allocations.
  • Lead or actively support monthly and year-end close processes.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.

 

 

 

Financial Analysis & Decision Support 

  • Support SKU-level structure analysis, including landed cost, freight, and inventory valuation 
  • Partner with procurement and operations to validate cost drivers and improve cost visibility.
  • Assist with development and maintenance of standard cost frameworks.
  • Perform variance analysis and prepare financial insights for management.
  • Support pricing, margin evaluation, and break-even analysis initiatives.
  • Translate accounting data into clear, actionable financial information.

 

Fixed Assets & Compliance

  • Manage fixed asset lifecycle: capitalization, disposals, and depreciation.
  • Prepare audit schedules and support internal/external audit requests.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and data integrity.

 

Process Improvement & Supervision

  • Improve accounting workflows and strengthen reporting accuracy.
  • Provide guidance or oversight to AP and transactional accounting functions.
  • Promote disciplined accounting practices within an ERP-driven environment.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in wholesale distribution or inventory-intensive environments.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement structure.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) is a plus.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Bilingual English/Mandarin is a plus.
