About the Role:
As a Registered Nurse specializing in Acute Care, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing severe or life-threatening health conditions. Your primary objective will be to assess, monitor, and manage patients' acute medical needs, ensuring timely interventions and continuous evaluation of treatment effectiveness. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote recovery and prevent complications. This role demands a strong commitment to patient safety, adherence to clinical protocols, and the ability to respond swiftly to emergencies. Ultimately, your expertise will contribute significantly to improving patient outcomes and enhancing the overall quality of acute care services within the healthcare facility.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of West Virginia.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in an acute care or hospital setting.
- Strong knowledge of nursing principles, patient care standards, and acute medical conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Advanced certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Experience working in specialized acute care units such as ICU, ER, or telemetry.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and clinical documentation software.
- Demonstrated skills in patient education and interdisciplinary team collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify acute health issues and prioritize care needs.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed, monitoring patient responses closely.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and update individualized care plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies, utilizing critical thinking and clinical skills to stabilize patients.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay current with best practices in acute care nursing.
