Frank Liquor Company in Baraboo, WI is now hiring an Area Merchandiser Supervisor. The team members of Frank Liquor Company are committed, innovative leaders of the beverage industry through marketing, selling, distributing, merchandising, and servicing quality products to our valued customers. 


The Area Merchandising Supervisor is responsible for supervising day to day work produced by the Lead Merchandiser and merchandising team direct reports in support of off-premise retail customer needs. This position will perform merchandising team administrative tasks, coordinate team schedules and train new merchandisers.  


Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversees merchandising and stocking products and in-store support for off and/or on-premise accounts. May be required to merchandise and stock products at each account in case of staffing needs
  • Inventory and reorganize back stocks, refill cold boxes, shelves, displays as needed
  • Follows quality assurance stands, monitors product codes and maintains ongoing product rotation on all date sensitive products
  • Provides support on operational practices and procedures
  • Identifies and resolves routine problems at time of occurrence and communicates to appropriate parties and escalates to General Merchandising Manager or local business unit
  • Works with management to provide support monthly display priorities in the retail channel
  • Assists all divisions in major display change projects, as needed
  • Oversees and may assist in the building or displays and places, maintains, and updates in-store POS that meets company and supplier guidelines and acts as primary support to sales team for building key accounts, large format displays, meeting supplier and company guidelines
  • Communicates proactively and frequently, reaching out to local business units and customers for clarification on product orders, displays, and customer needs.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with on and/or off-premise accounts; proactively establishing contact and respectfully interacting with customers
  • Attends product and business training sessions and sales meetings regularly. Conducts monthly meetings with respective team members.
  • Understands and completes all necessary training provided by the company as directed
  • May be required to assist Leads with scheduling conflict solutions as related to vacation and illness coverage needs
  • Maintains merchandising vehicle maintenance schedule and cleanliness of local team
  • Coordinates additional merchandising support when needed 
  • Performs team administrative tasks including approving time and PTO requests for direct reports
  • Creates and maintains the merchandising schedule including providing the coverage necessary for vacation and sick days
  • Trains merchandisers to meet the standards and expectations for their respective positions, and on procedures, territories, and company policies
  • Oversees lead merchandisers in daily activities such as stocking/backfilling, rotating product, and point of sale placement
  • May be responsible to open the job req and work with HR on the hiring process
  • Support goals and ensure professional development plans are in place for their local team
  • Perform annual performance reviews with input from Lead Merchandiser, and local stakeholders as needed
  • Works at retail directly with the Merchandisers and Lead Merchandisers on a regular schedule to provide oversight and training
  • Provides monthly coaching to team members on Lytx scorecards and addresses critical issues in a timely manner.
  • May need to provide support to delivery by putting delivery loads away at off-premise establishments when needed if short staffed
  • May need to oversee local inventory of current POS and coupons in vehicle and applies rebates and coupons to packages and display.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed
Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Intermediate knowledge and understanding of company supplier portfolio and product lines, such as brands carried and packaging sizes
  • Knowledge and familiarity with company customers and contacts
  • Demonstrated knowledge of company processes and procedures
  • Merchandising experience with Frank Beverage Group consistently meeting or exceeding expectations and demonstrated experience performing these duties with a high level of speed, efficiency, and accuracy
  • Experience leading teams or projects and training others preferred
  • Understanding of routing, and structure of operations teams
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of eoStar, UKG, GeoTab, and Lytx software
  • Knowledge of the beverage alcohol industry and its retail consumers is preferred
  • Ability to follow direction on multiple projects simultaneously

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) required, Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • A valid driver’s license and good driving record is required.
  • Required to be at least 18 years of age
  • Customer service experience required
  • May need to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary
  • Three year’s previous experience in related field (distribution, hospitality, supplier or beverage industry) preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds on a regular basis
  • Must be able to crouch, reach and grasp
  • Must be able to sit in a car for extended periods
