Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Psychiatric Mental Healthcare and management are a crucial element on our team, and we are seeking a candidate able to partner with multiple stakeholders on an interdisciplinary team and is equally as passionate about critical access communities as we are.

A Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner candidate's primary responsibility is to:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments.
- See patients and provide brief psychotherapy & psychopharmacological medication management and refer to other psychiatric and medical services as needed.
- Works collaboratively with VRH primary care medical providers, practice staff, and community mental health providers.
- Engage the patient and family to develop treatment plans that address identified goals
- Participate in relevant and ongoing professional training
Required qualifications for selection:
- Minimum of 2–4 years of independent practice experience with minimal physician oversight.
- New graduate candidates will not be accepted unless candidates seek to assist our triage element over Behavioral Health, Internal Medicine, and Family Medicine until an appropriate level of experience is gained.
- Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric nursing.
- Graduation from a state-certified advanced practice program specializing in psychiatry/mental health.
- Must be certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Psychiatric Mental Health (PMH) as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Experience in delivering high-quality, client-centered care
- Able to document and navigate EHR independently
- Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality
