About this position

The Supported Living Specialist provides and/or coordinates supports that are necessary to enable FRA participants to live as independently as possible.  This includes assisting in the planning, implementing and documenting resident goals and objectives of the Plans of Care (POC’s), ensuring the well-being, safety and quality of life of program participants, providing guidance and training that facilitates independence and recognizing and respecting the rights of the participant.

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 Hour Shifts, Flexible Schedule (ex. 8am-4pm, 10am-6pm)
  • Paid Holidays
  • Day Shift, Swing Shift

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required:

  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to the development and implementation of the least restrictive residential services for participants. 
  • Demonstrated skill in implementing and documenting direct participant training. 
  • Administrative and management skills necessary to supervise the day-to-day activities of residential participants
  • Must have reliable transportation and maintain a good driving record
  • Ability to learn new software and hardware applications.
  • Must have sufficient language skills to meet the needs of participants and the ability to access emergency service, including giving clear directions to emergency personnel of the home's location and describing the nature of the emergency in the primary language of the community.

Licenses/Certifications Required:

  • Alaska Drivers License (For Insurance Requirement's, must be minimum 21 Years of age, Alaska Drivers License for a  minimum of 3 years)
  • CPR for Infants and Adults (also provided by FRA)
  • First aid
  • Safety Care (also provided by FRA)

Immunizations Required:

  • Annual PPD

Physical Activity:

  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally 
  • Lifting
  • Communication
  • Driving- Minimum Standards required by state law
