POSITION PURPOSE

The Patient Service Navigator works in conjunction with the providers and clinic staff to take care of the clinic and patients' referral and administrative needs.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
-
Manage/schedules referral appointments for patients at the time of visit for specialists, therapy and diagnostic testing.
-
Provides f/u to patients for referral appointments.
-
Answer multiple phone lines.

Process phone calls, mail, emails and fax requests from patients, providers, other departments/clinics, external organizations.
-
Conduct appropriate follow-up with patients via phone or mail.

Communicate applicable messages to clinic staff.
-
Register and schedule patients for appointments maximizing the provider's schedule.

Verify insurance coverage and obtain appropriate insurance referrals and authorizations.

Check in/out patients.
-
Entering and updating patient data into system programs accurately.
-
Collecting, processing, and recording payments.
-
Providing accurate and complete information to the billing office.
