Position Overview
The Dental Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring efficient clinical flow, accurate documentation, and an elevated patient experience. This position requires strong chairside skills, attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate doctor needs while maintaining compliance and organization.
This is not a passive role — we are looking for a proactive team member who takes ownership of their operatory, instruments, and patient care standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the doctor chairside during restorative, crown & bridge, surgical, and limited endodontic procedures
- Prepare and break down operatories according to OSHA and infection control standards
- Take digital X-rays (must hold valid radiology certification)
- Scan for crowns and appliances (iTero experience preferred)
- Take impressions and fabricate temporary crowns
- Accurately document clinical notes and procedures in Denticon (or similar PMS)
- Ensure treatment rooms are fully stocked and organized daily
- Support sterilization protocols and instrument tracking
- Review upcoming schedules to ensure readiness and efficiency
- Maintain patient comfort and provide clear post-op instructions
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year dental assisting experience preferred
- Radiology certification required (Maryland compliant)
- Experience with digital dentistry and scanning preferred
- Knowledge of insurance basics and treatment flow is a plus
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Professional appearance and communication skills
- Team-oriented mindset with a solutions-driven attitude

The pay range for this role is:
20 - 25 USD per hour(MECD)
