COMPANY OVERVIEW: MOBIS Technical Center of North America is the Research & Development Center for Hyundai MOBIS, a Tier 1 supplier and an affiliate under Hyundai Motor Group. MOBIS produces and supplies a wide variety of automotive components to customers including component modules (chassis, cockpit and front-end module), core system, eco-friendly and DAS-mechatronics. Mobis delivers the design and development of advanced engineering, autonomous driving, infotainment, component modules, safety, brake and steering systems, lamp, ICS/electronics and software development solutions that consider the safety and convenience of our customers as well as the future.
Requirements:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS
Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Support mechanical product design and development of OEM automotive exterior lamp systems.
- Perform Class-A surface integration into 3D models and create 2D drawings.
- Manage CAD data, including import/export of 2D drawings and 3D models between OEM, MOBIS HQ, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Support all STEP releases and upload required CAD data per OEM development timing.
- Coordinate with MOBIS HQ from concept through final design stages, including design reviews, design changes, and feasibility assessments.
- Control and support mechanical engineering data/document delivery between OEM, MOBIS HQ, and manufacturing plants.
- Collaborate closely with internal team members, OEM customers, and cross-functional partners.
ADDITIONAL REQUIRED SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS
- Proficient in CATIA; NX TCE experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design for plastic components; experience with die-cast aluminum and sheet-metal stampings is a plus.
- Experience working with Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs.
- Ability to collaborate with design studios and international teams.
- Self-starter with strong motivation and ownership.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and project-management skills.

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION / YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering/Design or equivalent work experience.
- Approximately 5+ years of experience in mechanical design of plastic components and electronic CAD design.
- International collaboration experience is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Primarily office and engineering lab environment.
- Frequent onsite work at MTCA and regular offsite work at OEM facilities.
- Occasional travel within North America, Mexico, and Asia (less than 5%).
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- Standard business hours with additional hours as needed to support development timing, OEM events, and project milestones.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Office work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
TRAVEL:
- Occasional international travel
- Frequent local travel
