About the Role:
Circular Services is seeking a Paralegal as it builds its legal department, partnering with the Chief Legal Officer (CLO) and Assistant General Counsel on all matters, including commercial transactions and governance.
The role will be based in New York, NY and may require limited travel to other operating locations.

Responsibilities:
- Manage contract management system, legal entity management system, and outside counsel legal billing and matter management system.
- Participate and assist attorneys in matters across the U.S., including RFP responses, M&A and integration, corporate governance, policies and procedures, real property transactions, trademarks and DBAs, insurance matters, training, procurement, and contract repository, playbooks, workflows and templates.
- Collaborate with the Chief Legal Officer, Assistant GC, executive team and cross-functional teams to identify legal risks, proposing new solutions and processes that align with the company's overall mission and growth trajectory and drive operational excellence and efficiency, blending paralegal expertise with business acumen.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- 5 years paralegal experience
- Extensive experience with the legal and business needs of a recycling/composting/reuse provider and industrial/manufacturing operating company
- Demonstrated success managing contracts & agreements, insurance litigation, policies and procedures, entity and matter management, data and reporting
- Highly analytical, with sharp attention to detail
- Exceptional communication, coaching, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal clients and other stakeholders
- Extremely high level of integrity, professionalism, and reliability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strategic thinker with a passion for driving business growth and improving organizational processes
- Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards
- Substantial knowledge and experience designing and working with databases, working with Ironclad or similar CLM, Legal Tracker or similar billing and matter management software, CSC or similar legal entity management and SOP software, Ramp, and MS Office.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Experience working for a waste, recycling and/or organics company
- Knowledge and experience contracting with municipalities, reuse, composting and recycling facilities a plus
- Experience working in a growing legal department or working with or in a high-growth or start-up company, a private equity-backed company and a large public company
- Preference for large firm and in-house experience
- Preference for corporate or commercial transactions and corporate governance experience
