Job Summary:

Seattle Galvanizing is looking for an experienced estimator to join our fast-growing company. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for industrial painting, powder coating, and sandblasting projects. This role requires a strong understanding of the industry, materials, labor costs, and the ability to analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret project specifications, blueprints, and other documents to develop accurate cost estimates for industrial painting, powder coating, and sandblasting projects.
  • Collaborate with the general manager to gather necessary information for the estimation process.
  • Analyze and calculate the costs of materials, labor, equipment, and other costs required for each project.
  • Prepare detailed estimates, including itemized lists of materials, labor, and equipment, along with timelines for project completion.
  • Communicate with clients to clarify project details and provide technical support during the bidding process.
  • Update and maintain a database of pricing, labor rates, and other relevant information to ensure accurate and up-to-date estimates.
  • Participate in project meetings, site visits, and pre-bid conferences as needed.
  • Ensure all estimates comply with company standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals, budgets, and project schedules as required.
  • Monitor ongoing projects to assess and compare actual costs against estimates, making adjustments as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator in the industrial painting, coating, or construction industry, preferably with experience in wet and powder coating, and sandblasting.
  • Strong knowledge of materials, processes, and equipment used in industrial painting and sandblasting.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Proficient in estimation software and tools, with strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and clients.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and precision in all aspects of the job.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certifications or education in construction management, engineering, or a related field is a plus.
