About this position
An Accounting Manager oversees all accounting operations within a company, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance. This is a hands-on leadership role that offers the opportunity to manage a small accounting team while owning the full accounting cycle. Manage budgets, analyze financial data, supervise staff, and collaborate with other departments to improve financial health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage budgets, analyze financial data, and provide financial projections.
- Team Management: Hire, train, and supervise accounting staff, providing guidance and support.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and internal policies.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in accounting processes and implement changes to enhance efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work with other departments to align financial goals and strategies.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary information and documentation.
- Decision-Making: Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or CPA-track is a plus
- 3–7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in construction or industrial services
- Prior experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff
- Strong understanding of labor cost accounting, WIP schedules, and job costing
- Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, etc.)
- Experience with Viewpoint Spectrum or similar construction accounting software is a plus
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
