Annual Pay Range: $75,000.00 to $90,000.00
Travel: There is up to 80% travel to locations throughout the valley from Hilmar to Buttonwillow

COMPANY DESCRIPTION
California Bioenergy LLC (CalBio) partners with local dairy farmers, state, and federal agencies, providing a sustainable energy source that benefits the dairy, the company, and actively reduces greenhouse gases emitted to the atmosphere. The company is undertaking the greenfield development, construction, ownership, and operation of a series of projects in the San Joaquin Valley that will capture biogas from dairy farm operations and upgrade it for use in the natural gas pipeline and as vehicle fuel.
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified Dairy Operations Technician to join our Dairy Operations Team. This position is responsible for providing counsel and advisory services to Dairy Partners on manure management practices to maximize gas capture and to assist CalBio’ s business units in making decisions related to project updates and status.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is expected to perform the following to be assigned by supervising members of the CalBio Team.
- Weekly Staff meetings with CalBio Management and CalBio Operations Managers.
- Each weekly meeting will review the current biogas production from each dairy in operations, identify projects that may be underperforming due to wastewater diversions or dairy operational issues, and develop a priority list for the week.
- Evaluation of projects may include other items including Real Time Irrigation operations, water and wastewater meter readings, and sludge buildup and coordination of the removal from the digester.
- Complete daily site investigations of the project(s) noted during the weekly meeting and report findings to Dairy Relations, Dairy Operations Manager and input into the Business Management System (BMS).
- Meet with the dairy managers and owners as needed to resolve issues and develop strong trusting relationships.
- Review onsite wastewater operations, including but not limited to, flush operations, bypassing manure water, separator operations, sand removal operations, and lift station pumping.
- Identify issues observed and develop a list of solution(s) to resolve.
- Develop a list of solution(s) to include budget and schedules to complete.
- Provide oversite to make sure each solution is urgently addressed and completed.
- Maintain a database of activities completed for each project, ongoing efforts to confirm project updates completed, and status of ongoing efforts. Once BMS is fully developed, it is to be utilized for these purposes
with daily input of all activities. - Coordinate with operations and set up meetings with sub-contractors and equipment maintenance companies to develop budgets and schedules, once approved (by CalBio), coordinate the necessary items to resolve the issues noted.
- Communicate with CalBio Gas Operations any activities to take place on a dairy to assure support and agreement on resolution.
- Work with the Engineering Team to develop project schematics for each project that includes wastewater operations flow overlaid on map showing key locations to verify.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of on dairy management experience.
- Expertise related to herd management and manure handling practices.
- Ability to maintain high quality performance with varied deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong mechanical understanding and ability to logically evaluate project effectiveness.
- Strong communications skills (both oral and written). Ability to communicate effectively across broad functional and organizational lines.
- Self-starter who is adept at working in a true team environment and can partner with CalBio management, dairy ownership, and management, CalBio engineering, operations, and construction teams, and in many cases third-party EPC Contractors.
- Computer competency and ability to maintain communication and records through Word or Excel spreadsheets and proprietary software as developed.
