Title: Shop Foreman

Location: Saginaw, MI

MKR Fabrication, a subsidiary of Palladyne AI, is a heavy fabrication and weld shop with support and assembly capabilities that specializes in manufacturing heavy duty, complex components. With a focus on fabrication and welding for the mining and agricultural industries, and a growing presence in the aerospace and defense industries, our experienced team can handle projects of varying scopes and specifications, and as an AS9100D registered company, quality comes first, filling a need for reliable, high-quality products. Palladyne AI (NASDAQ: PYDN) is an AI software company on a mission to automate physically demanding work that has historically been “too complex to automate.” With more than thirty years of robotics R&D — including during our time under Raytheon — we’ve developed advanced AI and ML software that enables robots to observe, learn, reason, and act with human-like intelligence.


DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Managing monthly production and outgoing product goals

· Determining labor requirements and managing new hire needs

· Supervising employee productivity and monitoring performance

· Creating and managing employee schedule

· Managing daily stand-up meeting with shop employees

· Tracking projects from start to finish

· Managing project budget and resource allocation to meet production requirements

· Maintaining production log and scheduling production to ensure smooth flow and prevent bottlenecking

· Reviewing tracked incoming and outgoing shipments to manage the project schedule

· Providing direction to and coordinating employees during production

· Monitoring product quality and ensuring quality policies are followed

· Ensuring company safety policies and operating procedures are followed

· Monitoring and managing project risk

· Updating project status in database to populate reports with deliverables data for review

· Monitoring project data to review productivity and established goal progress

· Operating under a mindset of continual improvement to increase efficiency


QUALIFICATIONS

· Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience

· People and production management experience

· Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise

· Knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, and stewardship processes

· Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills

· Computer literate

· Microsoft Office literate

· Jobboss2 enterprise resource planning system experience is a plus
