Steel Service is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities:

- Review project drawings, specifications, and scope of work to develop accurate cost estimates for structural steel components.

- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and constraints.

- Prepare detailed bid proposals, including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

- Analyze supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.

- Monitor and update estimates throughout the project lifecycle to reflect changes and new information.

- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and schedules.

- Ensure all estimates comply with company standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices.


Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Structural Steel Estimator or similar role within the construction industry.

- Strong knowledge of structural steel design, fabrication, and erection processes.

- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

- Strong communication and negotiation skills.

- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

- Bachelor’s or associate degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred.

Requirements:

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

SKILLS & ABILITIES


Education: Bachelor’s Degree (four year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Construction Management or Related Field. Experience may be considered.

Experience: 2 plus years of experience in Related Field preferred.

Computer Skills: Experienced in Microsoft office suite and AutoCAD. Past experience with either Steel 2000 or FabSuite estimating software preferred.
