Lonestar Electric Supply and its subsidiaries are seeking an experienced Wire Room Manager to lead all wire room operations within the warehouse. This role is responsible for managing people, processes, safety, and performance to ensure wire room operations are executed efficiently, accurately, and profitably. The Wire Room Manager will provide leadership to wire room associates, collaborate closely with warehouse and branch leadership, and continuously improve operational workflows while promoting Lonestar’s commitment to MAKE IT HAPPEN.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage all daily wire room operations, including staffing, scheduling, workflow planning, and productivity management.
• Ensure safety is the top priority by enforcing all safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Hire, train, coach, and develop wire room associates and supervisors as needed.
• Manage employee performance, including coaching, corrective action, and terminations in accordance with company policy.
• Collaborate with warehouse leadership, sales, purchasing, and logistics teams to ensure efficient order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee wire cutting, labeling, staging, and inventory accuracy to ensure order quality and profitability.
• Review and complete required operational, safety, and performance reports.
• Oversee maintenance of wire room equipment and coordinate repairs or upgrades as needed.
• Identify, propose, and implement process improvements to enhance safety, accuracy, efficiency, and cost control.
• Resolve discrepancies related to shipping, invoices, packing slips, receiver reports, and wire usage variances.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and company safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in scheduled and unscheduled meetings with leadership and operational teams.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by warehouse or branch leadership.
Requirements:
• Proven leadership and people-management experience in a warehouse or wire room environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional supervisory, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Thorough understanding of warehouse operations, wire room processes, and inventory control.
• Strong working knowledge of applicable safety regulations and company policies.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in a warehouse or wire room setting preferred.
• Prior management experience required.
• Electrical supply distribution experience strongly preferred.
• Epicor Eclipse ERP experience a plus.
Physical Requirements:
• Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and in warehouse conditions that may not be climate controlled and may include heat and humidity.
• Lifting up to 40 lbs. may be required infrequently.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as calculators, copy machines, and printers.
• Noise levels may be loud at times.
